As a trauma survivor, creating art allows me to be in the depths of my suffering and shame without judgement. It makes the here-and- now tolerable.
Dark yet Vibrant;
Pure yet Perverted;
Simple yet Complex;
Powerful yet Vulnerable;
Shocking yet Soothing.
Art supports the integration of my polarities. By acknowledging my extremes I have experienced moments of harmony, and moments of contact with not only my self, with the other, and with the field.
I am always in process and draw inspiration from my edge, and from meeting others relationally at theirs, for those to dare go there with me.
